Wisconsin Rapids, WI-August 6, 2010. With one swing Brian Embery accomplished quite a bit. More than snapping the Rafters eight game losing streak, he gave the Rafters their first home win since July 13th and gave everyone a huge lift heading into the weekend after a tough first half of the week.
While he announced his presence with authority in Thursday night’s walk-off, Brian Embery has been quietly putting together a strong close to the season. Embery, now the team leader with four home runs, has nine hits, seven RBI, five walks and of course two home runs over his last 10 games.
The Rafters turn to left-hander Jesse Arreola to start game two of the series. Converted from reliever to starter two appearances ago, Arreola is 3-3 with a 4.23 over 19 total appearances. Wish 32 strike-outs Arreola trails just Tommy Organ on the team strike out list.
Thursday’s walk-off win pulled the Rafters even with the Woodchucks in the season series. Both teams have won four games in 2010.
The Rafters close out the three game series with a 7:05 game on Saturday night. Gates open at 6:05 bring the kiddies, bring your wife, you’re sure to have the time of your life.
