| Profile |
| In recent seasons, Johnson County Community College has had a stable of strong closers to finish out their baseball games. Nick Kolarik is on pace to be considered the best in the school’s history after just his freshman year. The side-arm pitcher, who has tremendous movement and the ability to locate all of his pitches, needs only four saves to set a new career standard at Johnson County going into the upcoming season. Last spring, Kolarik tied for seventh in NJCAA Division I baseball with 10 saves. That total also ranks as the second best season in team history, and ties the 10th-best total in Kansas Jayhawk Conference history. In 32 appearances on the hill, Kolarik logged 55 innings and finished with a 6-2 record, 69 strikeouts, and a sparkling earned run average of 1.78. His six victories were second on the pitching staff at Johnson County along with his ERA and strikeout totals. Kolarik was a three time letter winner at Bishop Miege High School where he was also named to the All-East Kansas League team as a senior. He is a native of Overland Park, Kansas. |
