Eau Claire, WI August 12, 2010. With just one win in the last week, and 63 runs allowed in their last four games, the Rafters will send Dan Johnson to the hill tonight at Carson Park to end the Rafters skid.
Johnson has been a work-horse for the Rafters this season tossing nearly 50 innings as a starter and reliever. The right-hander from the University of Rhode Island is 0-4 with a 5.80 ERA on the season.Johnson is the last Rafters starter to work into the sixth inning, throwing five and one third last Saturday against the Woodchucks.
The Rafters are in the midst of their third five game losing skid of the season. Their win last Thursday snapped a season long eight game skid.
Offensively the Rafters have shown signs of life in this tough 12 game stretch. Led by Evan Laude’s seven hits and nine RBI, the club is averaging just less than seven runs per game over their last three. During the five game skid the Rafters are averaging nearly nine hits per contest.
