Rafters Announce 2013 Northwoods League Schedule

 

 

Wisconsin Rapids, WI – December 17, 2012.  The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters of the summer collegiate Northwoods League will open their fourth season in 2013 at home against the Lakeshore Chinooks on Wednesday, May 29th at 7:05 pm.

 

Other highlights of the 2013 Rafters Northwoods League schedule include:

 

•A wide assortment of dates to choose from: The Rafters will play two games on Mondays; three games on Tuesdays; seven games on Wednesdays; seven games on Thursdays; three games on Fridays; six games on Saturdays; and six games on Sundays.

•The Rafters season will conclude on Sunday, August 11th against the Battle Creek Bombers for the ever-popular “Fan Appreciation Night”.  First pitch is slated to be thrown at 5:05 pm for the final regular season game.

•The schedule includes a pair of inter-divisional series’ against the St. Cloud Rox and Alexandria Beetles of the Northwoods League’s North Division.  The Rox will visit Witter Field on July 28th and 30th, followed by a two game set against the Beetles on July 31st and August 1st.  This will mark the first games against North Division opponents for the Rafters, and the first time since 2009 that teams from the League’s two Divisions will compete against each other during the regular season.

•Game times will be 7:05 for all Monday thru Friday games in 2013, with the exception of a 3:05 pm afternoon start time for the July 4th game versus La Crosse.  All Saturday start times will be 6:05 pm.  Sunday start times will be 5:05 pm, with the exception of a 1:05 pm afternoon start slated for July 14th against the Eau Claire Express.

Single game ticket prices for the 2013 season will be $7 for a reserved bleacher seat and $6 for standing room only and will go on sale in the spring of 2013. The full slate of promotions for the 2013 season will be released next year as well.

 

If you’re still looking for a gift for the holidays, make sure to stop into the Rafters office at Witter Field early next week.  Ticket packages, merchandise and gift cards are all available. The Rafters office will be closed beginning Saturday, December 22nd and will re-open on Wednesday, January 2nd, 2013!
