Perfect Game USA Announces Top 75 NWL Prospects

Wisconsin Rapids, WI-September 6, 2011.  Last week Perfect Game USA announced the top 75 prospects in the Northwoods League for the 2011 season.  Two members of the 2011 Rafters squad made the cut on a list that represents players that project to have the most potential to succeed in professional baseball.

Outfielder Cody Koback (UW-Stevens Point), who signed a contract mid-season to begin his professional career with the Boston Red Sox, came in at #54 on the list.  Coming in at #75 on the list was outfielder Garrett Nash (Oregon State) who ranked second in the entire Northwoods League with 24 stolen bases this summer.

Battle Creek’s hard-throwing right-hander Nolan Sanburn (Arkansas) was listed as the top prospect in the Northwoods League, while League MVP Shaun Cooper (Utah) of the Mankato MoonDogs, who won the 2011 Marshfield Clinic Northwoods League Home Run Derby at Historic Witter Field, came in at #8. A vast majority of the players who represented their teams at the All-Star Game in Wisconsin Rapids this summer made the list.
