RAFTERS FULL-TIME INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are currently accepting applicants for their 2013 summer internships. The Rafters are members of the Summer Collegiate Northwoods League and play 35 home games from late May - August. The internships run from the middle of May through the middle of August. This is an unpaid internship. All interns must receive college credit for the Rafters internship OR be directly supervised by a professor or advisor from their accredited academic degree program at a university, college or vocational institution during the time of their Rafters internship. Interns will not only work every home game, but will also help handle all day to day responsibilities in the front office on off-days as well. Hours vary each week depending on the number of home games.
Below are details about the full-time internships being offered in 2013: 1) Operations/Concessions Internship-Filled for 2013 - Help with the setup and cleanup of all events held at the stadium - Supervise game day staff and help with scheduling and payroll - Heavily focused on all concessions responsibilities including assisting with ordering food/beverage, food preparation, and management of staff - Responsible for the general appearance and cleanliness of the ballpark - Act as liaison to over ten distributors of goods and services around the ballpark
2) Operations/Merchandise Internship - Help with the setup and cleanup of all events held at the stadium - Supervise game day staff and help with scheduling and payroll - Maintain inventory, assist with ordering new merchandise, and manage team shop on game day - Responsible for the general appearance and cleanliness of the ballpark - Manage the home and visitors clubhouses, assist with team laundry and personals
3) Operations/Field & Turf Management Internship - Perform and oversee all aspects of field maintenance (mowing, fertilizing, trimming, weed management, and irrigation) - Ability to operate small landscape equipment (mowers, edgers, etc.) and basic small engines knowledge - Prepare the field on all game days (mowing, chalking, and raking the infield) - Perform other facility and maintenance duties throughout the ballpark including: working closely with beer distributors on ordering and tracking inventory, overseeing beer pourers, moving kegs, learning how to operate CO2 systems, etc. - Field/Turf Management experience or education in relation to athletic fields preferred
4) Ticketing Internship-Filled for 2013 - Work directly with online ticket system to ensure that all season ticket, package plan holders and large company outings have a good time when at the ballpark - Help manage and schedule a staff of game day employees – help with the incoming calls, walkup ticket orders, internet orders - Make sure proper wristbands are available for groups and members of the Founders Club - Assist with other special groups in the park (Birthday Parties, Founders Club members, 9-Game Pack holders, etc…) - Learn and operate the back end of the ticket system, CRM, and ticket exchanges
5) Video Production Internship-Filled for 2013 - Responsible for training camera operators and directing video webcast for 35 home games - Producing and editing T.V. commercials - Producing highlight packages after games for the website, YouTube & www.raftersbaseball.com - Being familiar with editing software such as Final Cut Pro and other software such as Livestream and Wirecast - Writing content for the website (series previews/game recaps) - Helping schedule interviews with the Media - Ability to shoot footage to document activities taking place at or outside of the ballpark
6) Marketing Internships-Filled for 2013 - Help implement sponsorship contracts while writing and executing game day scripts - Coordinate all on-field promotions and pre-game activities (National Anthem, first pitches etc…) - Organize and attend mascot/player appearances in the community - Develop positive relationships with fans, clients and community members to help promote the Wisconsin Rapids Rafters.

- Brody (2010) is currently working as the Director of Game Operations for the Sioux Falls Stampede (USHL) and Director of Merchandise for the Sioux Falls Pheasants (American Association of Independent Professional Baseball)
- Greg (2010-2011) is currently working as the Assistant Groundskeeper for the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (Class A Affiliate of Milwaukee Brewers) and the Oakland Athletics Spring Training Complex in Phoenix, Arizona.

Broadcast/Media Relations Seasonal Internship-Filled for 2013 The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are looking for an enthusiastic and ambitious individual to join the front office as the Director of Broadcast/Media Relations intern. This is a seasonal position beginning in May 2013 and ending in mid-August. The candidate will serve as the full-time radio broadcaster, traveling with the team during the season. The candidate will also serve as media relations liaison while also acting as the traveling secretary on all road trips with the team. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Broadcast/Media Relations Duties * Broadcast all 70 Northwoods League games on WFHR AM 1320, including pre- and post-game shows, during the regular season (and playoffs if necessary). * Coordinate and maintain press box and broadcast booths * Compile daily stat packs for position players and pitchers * Write press releases promoting team initiatives including, daily pre-game stories and post-game recaps for the team website. * Assist in production of Daily Wave game day program insert * Assist in production of in-house video projects * Coordinate media requests for players, coaches, etc. * Ability to work long hours, including weekends, as business indicates. * Strong written and verbal communication skills *Produce radio commercials for the Rafters and business partners *Work closely with GM and Marketing Director to include all sponsor and promotional live reads each game *Work closely with Field Manager and front office to make sure all player contracts and NWL requirements are met prior to players playing in games *Coordinate all aspects of team travel including notifying restaurants, hotels, and other teams, getting team orders, room assignments, etc.

Game Day Only/Street Team Internships:
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are currently accepting applications for the 2013 season for their Game Day/Street Team internship positions. The Rafters game day internships provide interns with hands-on experience what running a baseball organization is like from a game day standpoint. All interns will experience growth in various venues throughout the ballpark on game days as well as through special events in the community during the summer.
The Game Day/Street Team interns will work on game days only (and other special events as needed), arriving at the ballpark at least three hours prior to the game’s scheduled start time. Game Day/Street Team interns will start each work day by assisting with the setup of the stadium and with making preparations for the incoming patrons. Below is a listing of the different areas interns will be exposed to throughout the course of the summer.

Game Day/Street Team interns will also assist with community relations by accompanying the Rafters mascot, Rosco P. Rafter at events such as Lunch by the River, meet-and-greets, kids clinics, and various parades throughout the summer, as needed.
The Rafters will play 35 home games beginning in late May and ending in mid August, and game day interns will be expected to be present at all games. There will be a mandatory pre-season training session held at Witter Field prior to Opening Day to inform all interns of the Rafters expectations and philosophies. Rafters Game Day/Street Team internships are non-paid and may be used to earn credit through your college institution. Housing may be available to those that require it.
