Game Day Only/Street Team Internships:
The Wisconsin Rapids Rafters are currently accepting applications for the 2012 season for their Game Day/Street Team internship positions. The Rafters game day internships provide interns with hands-on experience what running a baseball organization is like from a game day standpoint. All interns will experience growth in various venues throughout the ballpark on game days as well as through special events in the community during the summer.
The Game Day/Street Team interns will work on game days only (and other special events as needed), arriving at the ballpark at least three hours prior to the game’s scheduled start time. Game Day/Street Team interns will start each work day by assisting with the setup of the stadium and with making preparations for the incoming patrons. Below is a listing of the different areas interns will be exposed to throughout the course of the summer.
GAME DAY INTERNSHIP DUTIES • Ticket Office Assistant • Concession Stand Management • On-Field Promotions • Press Box/Scoreboard duties • Guest Services • Will Call/Ticket Taker • Kid Zone Staffing
Game Day/Street Team interns will also assist with community relations by accompanying the Rafters mascot, Rosco P. Rafter at events such as Lunch by the River, meet-and-greets, and various parades throughout the summer, as needed.
The Rafters will play 35 home games beginning in late May and ending in mid August, and game day interns will be expected to be present at all games. There will be a mandatory pre-season training session held at Witter Field prior to Opening Day to inform all interns of the Rafters expectations and philosophies. Rafters Game Day/Street Team internships are non-paid and may be used to earn credit through your college institution. Housing may be available to those that require it.
