The top college baseball talent in the country will grace the confines of Historic Witter Field on July 17th                                                                            and 18th this summer.  The 2011 Northwoods League All-Star Game will be held in Wisconsin Rapids.                                                                        Marshfield Clinic will sponsor the two-day event, which marks the second year in a row that they will                                                                              present the Northwoods League mid-summer classic.

All-Star Game Itinerary

Sunday, July 17th (first kids 14 and under will receive a full-size youth wooden bat, compliments                                                   of Marshfield Clinic) 

2:05 p.m.-Marshfield Clinic Home Run Health Fest (All-fan Home Run Derby, autograph session, interactive games)                                                                                                                                                                                                                          4:30 p.m.-Northwoods League Home Run Derby                                                                                                                                                                                                                            6:05 p.m.-Field of Dreams Ghost Player Exhibition Game

About the “Ghost Players”
The “Ghost Players” are a traveling group of dedicated individuals that carry the positive message of the                                                                   “Field "Field of Dreams”.  They perform and spread a unique form of ambassadorship in various places in                                                                         Europe, Europe, Asia and America. The "Ghost Players" represent the players in the “Field of Dreams” and have                                                    shared the joy shared the joy engendered by the movie to delight thousands of people.

12 p.m.-All-Star Luncheon featuring MLB Hall of Famer                                                                                                                                          7:05 7:05 p.m.-17th Annual Northwoods League All-Star Game (Gates for the pre-game picnic on July 18th will                                               open at 5:00 p.m., open at 5:00 p.m. with main gates opening for 9 Game Packs, Season Ticket Holders, Solarus Founders Club,                                                                       and Element Mobile Home Plate Club members at 5:30 that evening.  Main gates to the public will open at                                                                              6:00----There will be a limit of one autograph from Paul Molitor per person)

Northwoods League All-Star Game History

The Northwoods League All-Star Game is the premier annual display of elite college baseball talent in the                                                                          nation. To illustrate the reputation of the talent present at the All-Star Games in the past, over 50 Major                                                                 League Baseball scouts attended the 2010 All-Star Game in Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

The speakers at the luncheon before the All-Star Game have also included some All-Stars.  Former Major                                                                        Leaguer and TV Analyst Jay Johnstone was among them.  Former big league manager Jimy Williams and                                                                               Twins' President Dave St. Peter were on the agenda at the 2005 affair in Alexandria.  Former Major League                                                                   catcher and manager Bob Brenly was the featured speaker in La Crosse in 2006.  Former Twins General                                                                      Manager Terry Ryan spoke at the event in Mankato in 2007 and former Milwaukee Brewer Greg Vaughn                                                                            was the keynote speaker in 2008.
